(MAGH 3 & 4)
7 to 8 yrs
The AHMIB is proud to offer our young players aged 5 to 8 the MAHG program of Hockey Québec. What is MAHG? This is the Ice Hockey Learning Method.
The general objectives of the program are:
The MAHG 3 and 4 programs take the form of lessons. Each program has 20 lessons of 50 minutes. Each lesson consists of 6 exercises that includes games, educational, courses, group games and directed games. We always try to have the best player/coach ratio possible.
What happens after the 20 lessons?
In mid-November, once the 20 lessons of the MAHG program have been completed, the season begins. The coaches will build their own practice program inspired by the MAGH program. The focus will be on the notions of skating and puck handling. It will also be the beginning of learning the collective game.
In addition to playing about twenty regular games, our young players will have the opportunity to participate in tournaments and end-of-season playoffs. They will continue their development until the end of March-beginning of April.
Long term player development:
We believe that hockey is a sport where the development of the player takes place over a long period of time. At the Novice level, we continue the development of motor skills while introducing the elements of the collective game. Teaching must be done as a result of this reality.
